About

Lisa Vaccari first received her bachelor’s degree in chemistry and then her doctorate in pharmaceutical chemistry in 2005. During her educational years, she has always maintained close contact with the world of synchrotrons, delving into aspects such as biocrystallography but also lithographic fabrication techniques. Lisa is now responsible for the infrared spectroscopy, microscopy and nanoscopy beamline at Elettra Sincrotrone Trieste, SISSI-Bio. In this role she supports the research of the beamline users and promotes in-house research with particular reference to the development of analytical methods and devices for infrared bio-spectroscopy of cellular systems under physiological conditions, as well as for applications in the fields of new green materials and cultural heritage chemistry. Lisa has authored over 150 articles in international peer-review journals, as well as book chapters and conference proceedings (H-index of 33).
