With a Master’s Degree in Economics and twenty years of experience in technology transfer, Maddalena Furlan is currently managing Area Science Park Research Valorization Unit. Her work experience has been focused on the so-called “technology push” tech transfer processes (from academia to industry), beginning as analyst, assessing the market potential of research results. After a period of advanced training in the US (Resident Affiliate Program, Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, OHIO) to improve skills and capabilities in technology transfer methodologies and practices, she starts managing projects and teams. She’s been involved in IP awarness and support initiatives, managing patentability assessment, patenting procedures and patent portfolio of several universities and research centers, open innovation initiatives, supporting the co-development of research results according to industrial needs, and in capacity building projects, both in Italy and abroad.
