Marta Stefania Semrau, a biotechnology graduate from the University of Technology and Life Sciences in Bydgoszcz, Poland, relocated to Trieste to join Adriacell S.p.A., a pharmaceutical startup specializing in developing novel anti-tumor therapeutics and early-stage cancer diagnostics. After four years of experience as a molecular biologist, she transitioned to Elettra Sincrotrone Trieste, where she contributed to the establishment of an insect cell expression platform for producing recombinant proteins for functional and structural studies.
In 2022, she earned her Ph.D. in Biomolecular Sciences from the University of Trento at CIBIO faculty. Since September 2024, she has been working as a researcher at Technological Innovation Research Institute (RIT) at Area Science Park, joining the PRP@CERIC project as a member of the Paola Storici group. Her primary research focuses on the detailed structural and biophysical characterization of potential drug target proteins implicated in cancer and neurodegenerative diseases.
