Save the Date: AI in Virology Workshop – 9 September 2025, Trieste

Workshop “AI in Virology: Leveraging AI to Advance Our Understanding of Viruses”
From Sequences to Protein Function - Artificial intelligence is opening new perspectives in the study of viruses, providing advanced tools to analyze viral evolution and understand protein structure and dynamics at scale. This workshop brings together a team of international experts at the intersection of AI and molecular virology to present the latest advances in the application of Protein Language Models to explore sequence variation, reveal structural diversity, and infer protein function. It will showcase how these tools can be applied to anticipate viral adaptation and support the development of therapeutic strategies, contributing to a deeper understanding of viral mechanisms.
Keynote speakers of the event:
- David Robertson and Joe Grove - Group Leaders at MRC-University of Glasgow Centre for Virus Research (UK)
- Francesca Cuturello and Alberto Cazzaniga - Researchers at the Laboratory of Data Engineering, Area Science Park (Italy)
📅 Date: 9 September 2025
