We are excited to announce the launch of the Structural Biology School, a cutting-edge training opportunity promoted by Area Science Park, Elettra Sincrotrone Trieste, and CNR. The school kicked off on Monday, September 9, 2024, and aims to provide insights into the three-dimensional structure of biological macromolecules, such as proteins and nucleic acids, and to explain how this relates to their functions, thus promoting understanding of the molecular mechanisms and interactions.

Our ability to respond to future pandemics depends on a constant commitment to develope innovative and effective response strategies. This is the objective of the International Scientific Conference “Pandemic preparedness: Achievements, current challenges, and new frontiers” scheduled from 11 to 13 November 2024 at the Hotel Savoia Excelsior Palace in Trieste.
Following the series of seminars organized in the period May-July 2023, the new series of seminars is an opportunity for scientists to present their scientific focus and/or scientific background with the purpose to highlight their expertise to be exploited within our Pathogens Preparedness network for new multidisciplinary research collaborations.

After nearly 30 years of service to the international research community, Elettra third generation synchrotron source is making way for Elettra 2.0 diffraction limited storage ring, a fourth generation light source.
The 2023 edition of annual meeting of the Protein Production and Purification Partnership in Europe (P4EU) was held for the first time in Italy. Elettra Sincrotrone Trieste organized the event in Trieste, in collaboration with ICGEB and under the patronage of Area Science Park.
