Cryo-Electron Microscopy

The Cryo-Electron Microscopy (CryoEM) station is able to cover the whole range of electron-based techniques, from single particle analysis (SPA), to electron diffraction on sub-micrometric crystals (MicroED), to cryo-electron tomography (CryoET) from biological organelles or frozen cellular lamellas. It is characterized by high optical stability, provide full automation of optical alignments, include an automatic cryosample loading system, and be suitable for high-speed data collection, to ensure the high throughput pipeline necessary for a users' facility. The facility also includes an automatic plunger for the controlled blotting and vitrification of samples.

📍 The “CryoEM station” is located at CNR-IOM in Area Science Park.
